Rescue Operation Takes Several Hours
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to the theme park at around 1:26 p.m. on August 31 after the ride came to a stop. Specialist crews from Ipswich East, Ixworth and Lowestoft South attended the incident and used an aerial ladder platform and a scissor lift to bring the stranded passengers back to the ground.
All Passengers Rescued Safely
The rescue operation was completed by around 4:05 p.m., with all 27 people successfully brought down. Firefighters confirmed that the passengers were not suspended upside down, and no injuries were reported.
Park Responds After the Incident
Pleasurewood Hills said the ride had stopped on the Cobra Roll section and that staff had planned and trained for such situations. The park also offered complimentary return tickets to guests affected by the incident, valid until summer 2027.
The circumstances that caused the ride to stop had not been confirmed at the time of reporting. The incident highlighted the importance of emergency rescue procedures at amusement parks, as specialist crews worked carefully to bring every passenger to safety.
