Princess Leonor Joins University Education in Madrid
Princess Leonor is now embarking on yet another phase in her educational journey by joining a four-year Political Science course at the Carlos III University of Madrid. The princess, who is next in line for the Spanish throne, commenced her studies on September 7, 2018.
Four-Year Political Science Degree
Leonor is taking up Political Science as a full-time student at the university. This is a course that aims to provide education in various fields, such as political science, law, economics, sociology, history, humanities, and international relations.
This course is likely to increase the future queen’s knowledge in politics, governance, and international affairs, which will play an important role in preparing her for the responsibilities that lie ahead as the head of state of Spain.
From Military School to University
This move comes after a period of three years in military training within the Spanish Army, Navy, and Air Force. She underwent this phase of education before proceeding to university.
Her progression from military schools to universities is yet another important phase in preparing Spain’s future monarch.
Combining University with Royal Obligations
While she will study at the university along with the rest of the students, Leonor will still continue to carry out duties associated with her royal status as heir to the Spanish throne. According to the Spanish Royal House, her studies will be conducted in such a manner that they are balanced with her royal obligations.
The commencement of her classes at Carlos III University is the start of her new phase of academic life.
